Terms and Conditions

1. About us

Web Scope Consultancy provides website consultancy, audits, strategy, quote reviews, project oversight, technical advice, CRM and integration consultancy, and training.

Our business contact details are: Web Scope Consultancy, Potwell Copse, Arundel Road, Walberton BN18 0QP, United Kingdom. Email: info@webscopeconsultancy.com. Website: https://webscopeconsultancy.com.

In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Web Scope Consultancy. “You” and “your” refer to the person or business purchasing our services.

2. Agreeing to our services

Before starting work, we will confirm the scope, fees, payment arrangements and anticipated timescales in a written proposal, quotation or booking confirmation.

A contract is formed when you accept that proposal or booking confirmation in writing, including by email, or through an ordering process that expressly requires acceptance of these terms. If you accept on behalf of a business, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.

Specific terms agreed in our written proposal take precedence where they conflict with these general terms.

3. Scope of services

We will provide the agreed services and deliverables using reasonable care and skill. Our services are advisory unless implementation, development or practical work is expressly included. Recommendations do not automatically include changing websites, configuring systems or managing third-party suppliers.

Audits reflect the information, access and website condition available at the time. Unless expressly agreed, they are not comprehensive security assessments, accessibility certifications or legal compliance reviews. Additional work requires your approval and may involve additional fees or revised timescales.

4. Your responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate information, relevant materials, appropriate access and timely feedback. You must have permission to share content, data and account access. Use secure methods to share credentials and limit access to what is necessary.

Where we are authorised to change a live website or system, we will agree relevant backup and recovery arrangements before starting. You remain responsible for business decisions, approving changes and ensuring your content and activities comply with applicable requirements.

5. Fees and payment

Fees will be confirmed before work begins. Website prices are indicative unless expressly presented as a fixed offer. Prices described as “from” depend on the agreed requirements.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, invoices are payable within 14 calendar days. Agreed deposits or advance payments must be received before work starts. Additional work is charged at the rate agreed before it is undertaken. Travel, accommodation and other expenses require your prior approval.

Applicable VAT or other taxes will be identified before you commit to an order. If payment becomes overdue, we may suspend services after written notice and a reasonable opportunity to pay. For business customers, we reserve the right to claim statutory late-payment interest and recovery costs where applicable.

6. Timescales and delivery

Delivery dates are estimates unless expressly confirmed as binding deadlines. Delivery depends on receiving information, access, feedback and payments. If delays occur, we will explain their effect and agree revised arrangements where reasonably possible.

7. Cancellations and rescheduling

Contact us promptly to cancel or reschedule. If a business customer cancels a project, payment is due for work reasonably completed and unavoidable third-party costs previously approved. We will provide a breakdown and refund advance payments exceeding those amounts.

Any missed-appointment or booking cancellation charge must have been disclosed and agreed when booking. These terms do not automatically entitle us to charge the full booking fee. If we cancel, we will refund payments for services not provided or, where appropriate, offer a revised date. Consumer rights are explained below.

8. Customers purchasing as consumers

A consumer is an individual purchasing mainly for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession. If you are a consumer booking services online, by telephone or email, you will normally have 14 days from entering the contract to cancel without giving a reason.

To cancel, email info@webscopeconsultancy.com with your name, service booked and a clear cancellation statement. You may use: “I give notice that I wish to cancel my contract for [service], agreed on [date]. My name is [name] and my address is [address].”

If you expressly request work to begin during the cancellation period, and we have provided the required information, you may need to pay a proportionate amount for services supplied before cancellation. You lose the cancellation right once the service is fully performed only where you expressly consented to early performance and acknowledged that the right would then be lost.

Refunds due will be made within the applicable statutory period, normally using the original payment method. Nothing limits your statutory consumer rights, including your right to services provided with reasonable care and skill.

9. Ongoing consultancy

Scope, monthly fees and any minimum commitment will be agreed in writing. Unless agreed otherwise, either party may end an ongoing service with 30 days’ written notice. Whether unused time carries forward will be specified in the agreement. Emergency support and guaranteed response times are included only if expressly agreed.

10. Advice and results

We provide practical recommendations to support your goals but cannot guarantee rankings, traffic, enquiries, sales, revenue or commercial results. Results depend on implementation, market conditions, competition and third-party platforms. Advice reflects the agreed scope and available information. We do not provide legal, tax or regulated financial advice.

11. Third-party suppliers and platforms

Unless agreed otherwise, you contract directly with independent hosting providers, developers and software suppliers and remain responsible for their fees and terms. We are responsible for reasonable care and skill in our own advice and work but do not control independent suppliers’ availability, policies, pricing or performance. Relevant referral commissions or commercial relationships will be disclosed.

12. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of materials you supply. We retain ownership of pre-existing methods, templates, tools, training resources and general know-how. Once agreed fees are paid, you receive a non-exclusive licence to use deliverables for their agreed purpose, including sharing relevant reports with staff, developers and advisers for implementation. You may not resell our materials or publish them as your own without written permission. Different ownership arrangements will be stated in the proposal.

13. Confidentiality and personal data

Both parties will protect confidential information and use it only for the agreed services. Necessary disclosure to authorised advisers or subcontractors is subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations, except where disclosure is required by law. We will not publish confidential project details or use your business as a case study without permission.

Our Privacy Policy explains our handling of personal information. Where we process personal data on your behalf, any necessary data-processing agreement will be put in place before processing begins.

14. Liability

Nothing excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

For business customers, subject to the above and where reasonable and legally enforceable, total liability arising from an engagement is limited to the fees paid or payable for that engagement. For ongoing services, the limit is the fees paid or payable during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Subject to the same qualifications, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses or loss of profit, revenue or business opportunities.

These business restrictions do not apply to consumers. Our liability to consumers is governed by applicable consumer law.

15. Ending an engagement

Either party may end an engagement if the other commits a material breach and fails to remedy it within 14 days of written notice, where it can be remedied. Payment remains due for services properly supplied and approved unavoidable costs. Remaining advance payments for services not supplied will be refunded, subject to lawful deductions.

16. Website use

Website content provides general information and is not a substitute for tailored advice. You must not misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access or introduce malicious software. We take reasonable steps to maintain accurate information and availability but cannot promise uninterrupted access. External links do not mean we control or endorse all their content.

17. Complaints

Email info@webscopeconsultancy.com with the relevant details. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to provide a substantive response within 10 working days. If more time is needed, we will explain why and provide an expected response date.

18. Changes to these terms

Updates apply to future bookings. The version provided when you enter an agreement applies to that engagement unless we mutually agree a change.

19. Governing law

These terms and business contracts are governed by the law of England and Wales. For business customers, its courts have exclusive jurisdiction. For consumers, this does not remove mandatory protections or rights to bring proceedings in another court available under applicable law.
